Join IFMGA Mountain Guide Mark Smiley in Alaska this spring for a 19 pitch mixed climb. Climbing The Mooses Tooth via Ham and Eggs is just cool. Period. You will need to be able to climb 5.8 rock, 65 degree snow slopes, and 100 foot (30m) sections of vertical alpine ice.

This expedition is a "light pack" style trip. You will never carry or climb with a pack over 35 liters. We fly in, landing at the base of the mountain. We then climb the entire route from our plush basecamp (seen in the photo above).

The photos speak for themselves. This trip is epic.

Normal duration is 7 days door to door. I also offer an expedited version for those that can not get a week long "hall pass." This route can be climbed in as few as 3 days door to door! Due to the technical nature of the route, the max ratio is 2:1 climbers:guide.

Itinerary:

Day 1 - Fly to Anchorage, arrive before 2PM, drive to Talkeetna
Day 2 - Fly via single engine ski plane to Root Canal Glacier, set up camp

Day 3 - Alpine start, climb the route and back to base camp

Day 4-6 - Weather days, or more climbing on Shaken Not Stirred, fly out

Day 7 - Fly off glacier, return to Anchorage for a midnight flight home

3 Day Itinerary:
Day 1 - Fly to Anchorage as early as possible, flight from ANC directly to the glacier

Day 2 - Climb route

Day 3 - Glacier pilot picks us up and takes us directly back to Anchorage, fly home

This is very aggressive, and leaves no room for poor weather. Yet it can be done, and is a very rewarding way to "snatch and grab" an amazing Alaskan expedition. Might be the best weekend warrior-ing ever done.
