Testimonials

"Mark and Janelle's slideshow is a funny, intense and honest depiction of their quest to climb the 50 Classics. Their narrative and world-class multimedia brought the mountains to life in a way that captivated everyone in the audience; beginners and seasoned climbers alike."

"Mark made magic with his words, sharing awe inspiring stories from his expeditions. He has the knack of tailoring his speaking engagement well to his audience and in this case an auditorium of MBA students. He connected his experiences beautifully to what it taught him about fundamentals of team dynamics, leadership, and leading in uncertain situations. We got very positive feedback on his talk at Wharton and I would highly recommend him for any speaking engagements. "

"For the past six years we have been climbing the Fifty Classic Climbs of North America. This journey has taken us to some of the most remote locations across the continent, has stretched our marriage in way we never expected, and ultimately been truly rewarding. We have completed 45 of the 50 routes, and are excited to share our story with you."

She has combined her work as a mountain guide with her work as a developmental coach to inspire her clients to push their limits and discover a holistic way of being.

She loves to spoil other people’s children, and has a special knack for creating tasty meals out of odd ingredients. She has no shortage of energy for the next adventure and that fun vibe is contagious with anyone she is around.

Mark Smiley is an IFMGA Certified Mountain Guide. His lifelong interest in climbing and guiding have allowed him to lead trips to ice climb in Alaska, backcountry ski in Europe, high altitude alpine climb in Peru and Ecuador, and rock climb in several States in the West. His clients come from across the States to climb, and learn, with him. During the summer and winter he works for Exum Mountain Guides in Wyoming, rock climbing and backcountry skiing respectively.

He also has a passion to capture the experiences he has through photography and film. These skills have developed while documenting a huge six-year project, Committed. Editing the footage after the climbs is a great way to relive the experience.
